About me – Professional Dog Groomer

Hello my name is Rosie Hall and I own and operate Pups and Paws which is a dog grooming, walking and small pet boarding business located in Hammerwich near Lichfield, Staffordshire.  You can contact me by clicking on this link or by telephoning me on 07825 187722. 

I have experience with nervous, strong and rescued dogs and I offer a free consultation so both you and your dog can meet me before any services are arranged.  I am sure that your best friend and I will soon become friends too.

My training and style

I am a fully qualified and insured groomer.  I have attained the level 3 City and Guilds Dog Grooming Certificate and I am fully insured to groom, transport and walk dogs.

I trained and worked with one of the most celebrated dog groomers in the UK and this experience has helped me develop my own, “one to one”, caring style.   I have worked with most breed of dogs and I will only treat one dog at time in my purpose built salon. (Maximum of two if from the same family). No dog will ever be caged and I ensure that they have plenty of rest and relaxation time during the grooming process. I want your best friend to enjoy the experience in a way that many humans do when they go to the hairdressers.

I will conduct a comprehensive health check on all dogs before any grooming commences. You can be assured that I will always consider the dog’s welfare first and if I find his/her fur is heavily matted I will advise you of what action I propose before moving ahead.

Crufts or scruffs

All dogs are special to me, however, I recognise that some owners may wish to have their dog groomed to breed standards whilst other have their own preference to how they want the dog looking.  So long as it does not compromise the animal’s well being I will do all I can to accommodate an owner’s wishes.

DBS checked and continually developing

I am  CRB (DBS) checked and have experience with a wide range of breeds, from Chihuahuas to Rottweilers, so you can feel totally at ease, knowing that your “best friend” is in good hands. I have grown up with pets of all kinds and within a family that have a background in animal therapy.  From my part I am continually  developing my knowledge through continual professional development (CPD). I am also a qualified sports therapists having successfully completed my three year course at Staffordshire University.  This knowledge helps my handling of a dog to be sympathetic as I understand their anatomical structure.

I understand that you would not want to trust your best friend to just anyone.  My aim is to “take care of your best friend” as if he or she were my own. 

My salon

My salon has been purpose built at my home in Hammerwich and contains the best equipment possible.  Your dog will be washed in a specifically  designed hydrobath which is specifically set at a temperature to suit canines.  I only use the the kindest chemicals to wash your dog.  I have tried and tested these chemicals and use them on my own dogs.  As my own dog was born with a skin allergy I have to be careful with the chemicals he gets exposed to and he has no problems with the products I use.
